2 Introduction Introduced in 2001 Took less than one year to create Apple decided to create the iPod due to a lack of a well- established mainstream mp3 player market “iPod” was originally the name for internet kiosks that was never used by Apple Steve Jobs introduced the iPod as “1,000 songs in your pocket”

3 Typical Layout Simple Layout Convenient Size Click-wheel is space efficient and easy to use Dock connector used to connect iPod to a Firewire, USB, Adapter or Speakers. Display can be categorized by Song, Album or Artist. Options include EQ settings, which controls the tone of your music.

4 Software The iPod can play MP3, M4A, AIFF, WAV, Audiobook and Apple Lossless audio file formats Video iPod also supports MPEG-4 and Quicktime video formats Does not support Microsoft’s WMA audio format, but file-converter is available When connected to a computer, iPod can be synchronized and files can be instantly added to it.
