4 Today Describe how the social, economic and cultural environment can impact on the outcome of children’s lives. Explain the role of children and young people’s choices and experiences has on their outcome and life chances.

5 Outcomes and life chances These can be linked to the ECM For each point of the ECM explain why these outcomes are important for children and young people. What would the consequences be if a child or young person failed to achieve one of these points.

6 Throughout your work with children you need to keep in mind the individuality and uniqueness of every child and young person. This will include an understanding that social, economic and cultural environments may have an effect on the children and young peoples personal outcomes and life chances

11 Children and young people’s voice Personal choices for children in the Early Years. The EYFS states that children’s needs and capabilities should be at the centre of planning and decision making. Children should have an equal right to be listened to and valued, and should be given opportunities to make choices and be involved in decisions that affect their daily lives.
