2 Clarify What to Expect Next
Before you leave the interview, clarify What, if anything, you should do to follow up When a decision will be made How the interviewer prefers you to follow up (by telephone, by letter, or in person).

3 Sample Dialogue You: When should I expect to hear whether I am selected for the position? Interviewer: We’ll notify all applicants of our decision within two weeks. You: Do you mind if I check back with you? Interviewer: I prefer that you don’t until we notify you OR Interviewer: No, I don’t mind You: How would you prefer I contact you? Interviewer: Please call my assistant.

4 Use Your Clincher Leave your interviewer with a clear picture of how you fit the job. You can ask the interviewer: Would you please summarize the most important qualifications you’re looking for in filling this position? Use the short version of your 30 second commercial to show that you meet the employer’s needs. One last chance to market yourself and your qualifications

5 Close the Interview Skillfully
Don’t let your posture, attitude, or verbal and nonverbal communication slip for even a moment. Watch for signs from the interviewer that it’s time to wrap up. Asking if you have further questions Tidying up papers on desk Pushing chair back Sitting back in chair Don’t make the interviewer impatient by droning on after these signs

6 Close the Interview Skillfully
Ask questions: Is there anything else you need to discuss with me? I know you are busy, and I appreciate the time you have given me for this interview. Request a commitment from the interviewer to notify you when an applicant has been selected. By what date will you make your decision on this position? Determine any follow-up activities the interviewer expects from you SELL YOURSELF…Express your interest in this job THANK THE INTERVIEWER!!!! USE THEIR NAME!!! Keep the positive body language going.
