3. 3 rd IPO Controlliing Conference Importance of administrative simplification o Administrative simplification is an important component of one of two priority goals of strategic importance at the Court of Auditors o Court Outline Strategy 2009-2012 identifies two priority goals, one of which is resources efficiency driven: Priority goal 1: maximising the overall impact from our audits Priority goal 2: increasing efficiency by making best use of resources

4. 3 rd IPO Controlliing Conference Importance of administrative simplification o Administrative simplification is one of the important means by which the Court aims to achieve Priority goal 2 o Administrative simplification can take many forms: - rationalising the organisation (e.g. fewer management layers) - harmonisation and simplification of processes and procedures - computerisation

International Peer Review of European Court of Auditors by four Supreme Audit Institutions (December 2008) 2. Support Services Workload Assessment (April 2008) and Higher Level Organisational Review by PwC (October 2008)
