CYBER BULLYING By: Adrianna Parr Hour:7

Cyber Bulling is something every child goes through. It’s the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature.

Netiquette is the acceptable way of talking/texting on the internet

Cyber Safety is the safe way of using the internet

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN BULLIED BEFORE ON THE INTERNET? That's how they were raised while growing up and were exposed to violence and rudeness. Also they weren't raised with manners or common sense But it still doesn’t give them the right to do that. Technology means that bullying is no longer limited to schoolyards or street corners. Cyberbullying can happen anywhere, even at home, texts, cell phones, and social media websites 24 hours a day

Save every message. You need proof. Step One

Step Two Never participate. If you receive a hurtful message, never get more involved than you need to. Replying to that hurtful comment will only worsen the problem

Step Three Identify the person doing it. Emails, screen names and images of themselves can be deceiving, and can temporarily disguise a bully. However, there are ways of figuring out the guilty party. First, write down the email or screen name you've received this from.

Step Four Approach them in person (if you know who they are (personal), just make sure to bring an adult). A cyber bully is nothing when not behind their internet mask. Talking to them about it upfront might even scare them away. If this person seems to not be intimidated, or issues more violent or humiliating threats, contact an adult to intervene.

Step Five If the case is severe, press charges. Bullying of any kind is illegal in most states. After letting a parent into the situation, allow them to contact the bully's parents. If you've suffered immensely from this, or have been humiliated or violent threats or acts, this person can be suspended, expelled, or even arrested, depending on how severe they have treated you.
