the reasons for English colonization, how geography influenced the decision to settle at Jamestown, the importance of the charters of the Virginia Company of London in establishing the Jamestown settlement. the hardships faced by settlers at Jamestown and the changes that took place to ensure survival. 4 Jamestown Charter Process 1. Click on the TV to watch a video clip titled “Segment I: The English: Colonization Benefits.” As you watch the clip listen for 3 reasons the English wanted to colonize in America. Write them down on your “Jamestown Charter.” 2. Why did the English colonists pick the spot they did for Jamestown? Click on the TV again and watch the clip titles “Segment III: Voyage to Virginia: Arrival.” Write your answers on your “Jamestown Charter.” 3. Why were the charters important to establishing the colony? Click here to search for your answer. Fill in your “Jamestown Charter” accordingly. 4. There were many hardships that the colonists faced. Click on the TV and watch the clip titled Segment II: Legacy: Struggling to Survive in Jamestown and write down hardships or problems that they faced. 5.
