Many of the mothers we interviewed remembered their babys excessive activity in utero. 1/While my daughter was in the womb, she kicked so hard and often that I had very little rest… much of the time it felt like she was in a fight - rolling and tumbling around and then, when she was born.. she kept all the other babies up with her screaming. 2/I too noticed signs that this was an extra-spirited child. In fact, while I was pregnant, I remember saying, Uh-oh, the baby is angry again. His kicks would last for an hour as I doubled over in pain.. 3/At 14 weeks the sonographer and obstetrician were unable to get a picture of Ians face and could not sample the amniotic fluid due to constant, unpredictable activity.
Bax: Some of the witnesses we have had have described these guidelines as a framework, within which to work... Does that fit in with how you saw the guidelines? That: They are exactly what they say, guidelines, they are not the law. They are guidelines. Bax: Did they have to be followed? That: Of course they have to be followed, but they are not strict law. That is why they are guidelines and not law and, of course, they have to be applied according to the relevant circumstances. Bax: They are expected to be followed?
