7 Deviated Fixed Route/Trailblazer Deviated Fixed Route – Trailblazers operate on a fixed route but will deviate off the route (up to ¼ mile) to pick up a passenger that has called in advance to request the deviation Enka-Candler Trailblazer – 4,307 trips FY 2010 Black Mountain Trailblazer – 8,271 trips FY 2010 North Buncombe Trailblazer – 4,369 trips FY 2010 $0.50 fare each boarding

8 Enka-Candler Trailblazer Ridership Ridership has increased consistently each year Overall increase of 20% Passengers per Revenue Hour has increased from 1.69 to 2.45

9 North Buncombe Trailblazer Ridership Route began in FY 2009 FY 2011 YTD Passengers per Revenue Hour is 2.30 up from 2.13 in FY 2010 Provides service to major employers in the Woodfin and Weaverville areas

15 New Driver Training Requirements New hires receive 98 hours of training prior to driving a route alone Topics Include: General Orientation, Policies in the Workplace Passenger Assistance, Sensitivity, ADA, Passenger Relations, Aging Population, Special Needs Population, Transportation of Children CPR, Emergency First Aid, Bloodbourne Pathogens, Hazardous Materials, Emergency Procedures Substance Abuse Policy Wheelchair Securement, Lift Operation Daily Vehicle Inspections, Radio Procedures, Fuel Policy, Electronic Manifests, On-Board GPS Smith System Defensive Driving Behind the Wheel, Vehicle Obstacle Course, Field Orientation, Cadet Training
