They were prepared and watched They thought they were in a safe situation, until it was too late. They probably thought that the wise virgins were probably too zealous!

The Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matt 25:1-13) Can’t be prepared by someone elseCan’t be prepared by someone else –(Vs. 8-9) –They were reminded of the proper way of gaining oil Must watch and be preparedMust watch and be prepared –(Vs. 13) “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh.”

We must be Prepared! (Heb 9:28) “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”(Heb 9:28) “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” (2 Tim 4:8) “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”(2 Tim 4:8) “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

We must be Prepared! (Matt 24:37-39) “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”(Matt 24:37-39) “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

To Be Prepared, You Must Be in The Kingdom (John 3:3) “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”(John 3:3) “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” –How can we be born again? (John 3:5) “Except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”(John 3:5) “Except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

New Birth Physical Birth Spiritual Birth Two Agents Mother Father Water Spirit (Rom 6:3-4) “Know ye not, that so many of us were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

Newness of Life – Child of God (Gal 3:24-29) “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”(Gal 3:24-29) “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Justification by faith comes by obedience to God (Matt 7:21) “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”(Matt 7:21) “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”
