In Bible Class we looked at Paul’s command to forget the past and focus on the things that are ahead from Philippians 3:13 and why that is such an important command!

Thank you for your prayers about the future!

Forget the past – both good and bad – and focus completely on the future!

In this hour, we will talk about the 2 nd step! You must find God’s Wisdom and, with God’s help, prepare to make any necessary adjustment!

Col 4:5-6 5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. NKJV

James 1:4-6 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting,

Prov 1:20-21 20 Wisdom calls aloud outside; She raises her voice in the open squares. 21 She cries out in the chief concourses, At the openings of the gates in the city She speaks her words: NKJV

Prov 8:1-3 8 Does not wisdom cry out, And understanding lift up her voice? 2 She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, Beside the way, where the paths meet. 3 She cries out by the gates, at the entry of the city, At the entrance of the doors: NKJV

Churches really need wisdom, especially when major changes are forced upon them!

Consider what God ask of the early church in Jerusalem!

Jerusalem Explosive growth forced a major change to 12 apostles and their families!

3,000 the first day – Acts2:41 They add souls daily – Acts 2:47 Increased to 5,000 men – Acts 4:4 Their number was multiplied-6:2

An urban move necessary! 1,000’s of eager disciples! How do you “do the new worship patterns and actions? How do you make everyone “children” in the same family? How do you handle money & persecution? What about Gentiles?

When things were going so well, an extreme change was required!

Acts 8:1 At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.NKJV

Those members were needed elsewhere for starting congregations! But God helped! Acts 21:20ff Explosive growth in Jerusalem Opposition Finally God told everyone to leave, Rome was coming!

Matt 24:16-19 16 "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. NKJV

Great changes were required of every member at this great congregation!

We must be willing to learn wisdom and make significant changes for the Lord!

A 2 nd Example of Learning and Great Change – Which Was Required of Jesus!

Luke 2:41-44 42 And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast. 43 When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not know it; NKJV

Luke 2:51-52 51 Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. NKJV

If Jesus had to learn “wisdom”, and grow in it, then you and I certainly must Seek it Pray for it and Work to find it!

What Clay Has Going For It! Location Room To Grow To God’s Help

Major Adjustments In “Quick Turn Around Churches”

Major Adjustments In what you expect In your prayers In your facilities In your talk, comments and descriptions In how you see Bible Classes

Do You Want To Be A Part Of God’s Family And Be His Child?
