15 MissionMission QUEST students will pursue a pathway of accelerated, honors, and AP courses designed for gifted students who want to excel, advance, and compete academically with the best and brightest students in the nation. The rigorous curriculum includes accelerated, honors, and five required Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The mission of QUEST is to offer a course of study which engages, motivates, and prepares students for the competitive admissions standards of the UC system and top universities. QUEST students are active participants in sports, music, the arts, community service, and student government. 16 QUEST is in its twelfth year and is one of the most successful GATE programs in Long Beach Unified School District. #1 requested LBUSD high school GATE program in 2007 with over 1000 applicants. AP pass rates in QUEST average approximately 75-95% compared to nationwide rates of 50-55%. QUEST graduates attend and earn scholarships to top universities in the country such as UCLA, Berkeley, Cornell, West Point, Stanford, and Duke.

17 STELLAR provides a standards-based, challenging curricula for English Language Learners. Teams of teachers work with students to provide the personal and academic support of a Small Learning Community environment. After acquiring English proficiency, students transition to other Millikan academies. STELLAR Vision
