DIRECT SELLING ASSOCIATION CODE OF ETHICS

DIRECT SELLING ASSOCIATION Mission is “to protect, serve and promote the effectiveness of member companies and the independent business people and/or the direct sales opportunity is conducted with the highest level of business ethics and service to consumers.” Dedicated to consumer protection and to safeguard the industry, consumers and individual direct sellers. Educate consumers on best practices and the difference between legitimate direct selling companies and pyramid schemes. Member companies of DSA pledge to adhere to a code of conduct that requires business to be conducted with transparency and consumer protection.

CODE OF ETHICS Deceptive or Unlawful Consumer or Recruiting Practices must not engage in any deceptive, false, unethical or unlawful consumer or recruiting practice. information provided to prospective consumer concerning the opportunity and related rights and obligations shall be accurate and complete. shall not make any factual representation to prospective consultant that cannot be verified or make any promise that cannot be fulfilled. shall not abuse the trust of individual consumers, or exploit a consumer’s age, illness, handicap, lack of understanding or unfamiliarity with a language.

CODE OF ETHICS Sales Receipt –A sales receipt must be provided to the client at or prior to the time of the initial sale. –Official sales receipts contain legally required information such as Client Satisfaction Guarantee as well as legal consumer protection rights. –Do not use sales receipts or order forms not created by the Home Office.

CODE OF ETHICS Inventory Buyback DSA requires member companies to repurchase inventory from consultants who decide to leave the business. Any inventory purchased in the 12 months previous to the consultant’s departure will be repurchased for at least 90% of what was originally paid. Therefore, there is no risk of being left with large amounts of inventory in the event the consultant is not satisfied with his or her experience. Arbonne will provide 100% refund for any resalable inventory purchased within the last 12 months that is returned by consultants who terminate their contract. Do not purchase excess inventory or encourage others to do so.

CODE OF ETHICS Earnings Representation any earnings or sales representations that are made must be based on documented facts. do not claim large profits without time, commitment and effort. Earnings are primarily based on the sales of products. consultants are compensated for the sales of products, NOT for recruitment.

PROSELYTING GUIDELINES Proselyting: an industry term used to describe the attempt to convert one or more salesforce members from one company to another. Proselyting is not addressed in the US Code of Ethics, but DSA in the past has adopted guidelines regarding these practices of which salespeople and companies should be aware.

PROSELYTING GUIDELINES It is considered unethical behavior throughout the industry for one company to target the salesforce of another company in an attempt to lure salespeople into their own organization and stop selling for their original company. Solicitations that present misinformation or denigrate a company can be inappropriate, unethical, misrepresentative, or even illegal and may be at odds with the Proselyting Guidelines.

CODE COMPLAINTS Complaints regarding Code violations may be filed with the DSA by consumers, direct sellers and companies. Arbonne Consultants are encouraged to contact B.E.S.T. or Customer Service directly to resolve any issues that they or a consumer may have. Our goal is always to resolve issues so that it does not need to escalate to the point of a Code or BBB complaint.
