Collaboration Process

Interdisciplinary Research Installation Day: Explaining the exhibit to library administrators

Description of the Exhibit Podium

Exhibit Impact Statistics 1523 unique interactions (lasting 30 sec) No promotion, not tied to curriculum – Regular gallery exhibit: 1000-2000 visitors/3 months; 10-20 people/day. – Thompson Library traffic is 4K-10K visitors/day

Exhibit Impact Quotes – “I really appreciate this more artful representation of data.” – “This is so much cooler than a tag cloud.” – “I really like it. I want to see where this goes.” -Dean of College of Arts and Sciences – “How would my daughter be able to study here and work on this kind of project?”

Exhibit Impact (B sides) Alex took the exhibit to the grand opening for ACCAD’s new building: Woman was standing looking at the interactive display and spilled a glass of water down the front of her dress – the entire glass of water – upon him offering her a napkin she said, “No, this is much too interesting. I want to see and hear the rest of the description of the project.”
