Goals of this Session: Brief summary of what Elem Rep Card can do Talk about success factors Talk about setup and responsibilities at Office Talk about additional office features and reports to monitor teacher’s work, provide statistics and reporting for admin. Elementary Rep Card

Office controls all setup Tab on TeacherConnect for them to: –Maintain subject topics, factors, marks, comments, and outcome values per student and subject –Include up to 5 attachments to a student report card –Print report card checklist, Report Card(s), and eFile !!! –View previous efiled report cards –Maintain Per student AND/OR per subject (super efficient) –Ability for specialty teachers (non-homeroom based) like PE, Band … to add in their own values per subject. Elementary Rep Card

Discussion: Should teachers be eFiling or leave that to the office?

Elementary Rep Card

Timing and Activities at the Office – ONE TIME ITEMS STU.324 (One-time check to confirm access for all AC,TC,PC,SC) Course Definitions – SCH.310 “Subject” definitions which should be managed from board office Allowable grade/scale values – GRD.250 should be managed from board office Allowable Learning Outcome values per subject GRE.105 should be managed from board office Elementary Rep Card

Timing and Activities at the Office – Report Card Setups Copies from year to year but important to understand –GRE.204 Define Report Card Subjects and Order per report card per grade level. Also indicate allowable grades for each reporting period for this subject (GRD.270H). Note that no mark or comment value means subject will not print on report card for that student anyway We think GRD.270H although optional is REALLY important as it will force teachers to input correct values!! Elementary Rep Card Can be updated anytime.

Timing and Activities at the Office – Report Card Setups Contd –GRE.205 Assign learning outcome(s) per subject, section, and format This means that if a new learning outcome is expected for say Grade 1 English it would mean changing every teachers EN1 (Section1,2,3) and for all applicable reporting periods R1,R2,R3. District is responsible to define all usable outcomes. Schools can select from a valid list. Often Outcome acceptable input values are different from marks, hence ability to limit input to a particular grade table (GRD.270h) Elementary Rep Card Can be updated anytime.

Timing and Activities at the Office – Report Card Setups Contd –GRE.211 Define Report Card layout for each report period. Choose: Whether to print K-3 as scale or mark values Overlay considerations Elementary Rep Card Can be updated anytime. Super important to have right/tested before Teachers begin printing! Must update every yr due to abs date range!!!!! Important to have on a calendar when to change the TC and PC values from YES/NO/LOOK.

Timing and Activities at the Office – Report Card Setups –SCH.617 Copy Master Schedule from Previous Year, SCH.320 Maintain the master schedule of who is teaching what Homeroom Teacher always has access to students to do report card regardless of what teacher is displayed in SCH.320 Input specialty teachers for subjects that they are responsible for If a homeroom teacher changes mid-year you can change the homeroom teacher for students AND change in SCH.320 Elementary Rep Card

Timing and Activities at the Office – During the Year To manage what subjects appear for that student to the teacher –New Students, rare student subject area changes – SCH.410 –Large changes: SCH.650 Elementary Rep Card Reminder: Standard windows Works!!!

Tools to assist at each Reporting Period: –Mass assign a mark value or comment code to all students in a subject/section GRD.684 –Mass assign a mark value to a learning outcome for all students in a course/section. Reminder: –Admin can use AdminConnect, pull up the Report Cards for a teacher (by homeroom), edit report cards… Plans to have some form of online approval between TC,AC ?? Elementary Rep Card

Post Mark analysis and checklist –Student Grade Matrix – excellent summary MUST HAVE GRD.590/GRD.292 –Mark Comment summary GRE.5xx –Print/Efile Report Cards GRE.511 –Failures, certain marks value, great marks.. GRD.558 Elementary Rep Card STUDENT NAME SR |ENSL |ENRD |ENWR |MA |SC |SC |SS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BAJWICK, JANE ME |ME ME |MEE ME |MEE EX |EX EX | EX | EX | EX BARKHI, JAMIE AP |AP AP |ME ME |APM AP |ME ME | AP | AP | ME BUBLIK, STEVE ME |ME AP |ME ME |APM AP |APM ME | ME | ME | ME BUPKIS, JOE ME |ME AP |ME ME |ME ME |AP AP | ME | ME | ME STUDENT COUNT STUDENT AVERAGE
