5 IR (Cont.) Managing the universitys image globally by exposing its product. (Adds to Inst./faculty Prestige by showcasing its academic research to improve rating of the institution) Long term preservation of intellectual output

6 (Cont.) Enrich education through sharing the learning of the rich with the poor and the poor with the rich to help others build upon the research

7 (Cont.) Gives authors and their works immeasurable publicity and increased visibility

8 UoN IR - ESTABLISHEMENT library is in the process of establishing an IR – Initial stage Committee set up to look into logistic issues

9 Establishement (Cont.) Contents - technical papers, research articles, lnaugural lectures, conference proceedings, theses etc Customization completed Propasal to justify the need for an IR

10 Establishement (Cont.) Staffing: o IR administrator to spearhead the project o Train more staff/researchers in submission of content (Workshops and Seminars)

12 Challenges/Issues being Considered Staffing – Digitization specialist, ICT staff to monitor and upgrade system Required equipment, eg commercial scanners, s/w
