God Was With Him Genesis 39:1-7; 39:20-23

God Was With Him Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh’s officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there. The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.

God Was With Him When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and entrusted to his care everything he owned.

God Was With Him From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field.

God Was With Him So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me!” But he refused.

God Was With Him “What will we gain if we kill our brother and cover up his blood? Come, let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay our hands on him; after all he is our brother, our own flesh and blood.” Genesis 37:26-27

God Was With Him At 17, he’d lost everything that he’d loved and considered important. He has nothing…he owns nothing…he IS nothing. BUT…He had a God who cared for him

God Was With Him Joseph’s life is a case study in the faithfulness of God’s promises, because God has made us the same promise:

God Was With Him “I will never leave you or forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5) “…the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him…” (2 Chronicles 16:9)

God Was With Him “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cry.” (Psalm 34:15) “…we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

God Was With Him “There’s something suspect about a faith that has never been tested.”

God Was With Him “In this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33)
