3 Place Value Through the Millions O A place value chart shows the value of the digit in a number. O Place value charts are divided into periods, these periods are separated by commas. O If you are unsure of the place value of a given digit start with the ones place and work your way to the left.

O When you are unsure of the place value of a digit in a decimal start from the tenths place and work your way to the right.
