1 CLASS OF 2014 Flanagan-Cornell Unit District #74 “Good Schools Build Strong Communities” Dear Parents/Guardians, The school year is in full swing here at Flanagan-Cornell High School. The Sophomore Class will be doing the concession stand at the high school boys’ basketball games this year and selling cookbooks. The money raised from the concession stand & cookbooks, along with money raised over the next two years, will be used to fund their Junior/Senior Prom in the spring of their junior year and their senior class trip. In order to fund this event, the class relies on each member to help out in various activities. Our big fundraiser this year will be the Class Cookbook. Each student was asked to bring in recipes at the end of last school year. We will begin selling the cookbooks in November. Each member of the Sophomore Class will be responsible for selling 10. Points will be given to each class member that sells 10. Over the next 2 years, the class will participate in numerous activities in which each member of the class could earn points. A few of the activities include paying dues, attending class meetings, serving on committees, being a class officer, and working at concession stands. Points range from 5 – 10 points for each activity. These points are used to determine who is eligible to attend their Junior Prom. This year’s freshmen class will need to earn a total of a 120 points to be eligible to attend prom their Junior year. If a student has not earned the required number of points by the spring of their junior year, he or she will not be allowed to attend the Junior Prom. This policy was set in place when students are freshmen in order for them to plan ahead and earn the required number of points by their junior year. Thank you for your support. Without you, we would not be able to raise the money needed to fund prom. Thank you in advance for helping out with fundraisers, purchasing food at concession stands, and helping at concession stands. Your help is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Anthony Gullo & Shelley Wilson Sophomore Class Sponsors ___________________________________________________ 202 E. Falcon Highway, Flanagan, IL 61740 Phone: 815-796-2291Fax: 815-796-2856
