6. In 2008, 1million In 2009, 1.1million In 2010, 1.3million In 2011, 1.4million In 2012, 1.5million In 2013, 1.7million All these, applied to University, Polytechnic/Monotechnic or College of Education to study one course or the other.

9. For most, securing admission in Nigeria is more difficult than this:

10. At best effort, less than 30% of total applicants get admitted yearly. In fact, for the 2013/2014 academic sessions where 1.7million Candidates sat for the UTME; the Minister of Education & the JAMB registrar have said at different fora “that only about 520,000 admission spaces are available for the 1.7million”

11. A little Math: 1,735,729 – 520,000 = 1,215,729 1.2million would be denied admission automatically, irrespective of their performance!
