3. 3 Updates of NIR Activities CNNIC –Statistics, historical resource status in China, future address requirements –Expected to require 10-15 */8 by the end of 2012 TWNIC –Introduction of new staff in IP Department –Update of TWNIC Open Policy Meeting IDNIC –Change of name from APJII to IDNIC, introduction of OPM –Planning to start a service for small multi-homing assignments

4. 4 Review of APNIC Fee Structure APNIC secretariat introduced a model of fee review based on APNIC Membership Fee Structure Proposal Version 1.1 –NIRs presented a summary of NIR s comments for the model 2 other alternative models of fee structure introduced for discussions Details of the models to be introduced later in AMM at APNIC fee structure discussion

5. 5 Major comments on APNIC Membership Fee Structure Proposal Should discount for developing countries be considered? If yes, to what extent? The new fee should be able to absorb fluctuations in exchange rates and inflations NIR s operational cost should also be taken into considerations in designing the fee model NIR pool and NIR member s pool should not be counted as different types of address space

6. 6 Outcome of the Fee Discussions No conclusion to support a particular model –Continue discussions on the fee wg mailing list Action Item –APNIC secretariat will call for a volunteer at AMM to chair the Fee WG –Need to have a chair to drive the discussions

7. 7 An Idea for Future Considerations Can perhaps consider to hold a Separate fee session as in APNIC 21 where all members can participate in future meetings?
