Sinergies with Internal Networks Strategy of building Terrestrial networks with ability to carry internal traffic – Terrestrial Networks linking countries often go through main cities in countries Dark Fibre wherever that is possible – Low cost to upgrade – Flexibility to use the adequate technology at any time – Flexibilty to create different physically separated networks for special purposes
Key Factors Strategic – Continent wide network is best suited to work with other continental networks: GEANT, APAN, Internet2+CANet, etc. Short/Medium term – Construction of internal networks – Technical support – Economies of Scale for bandwidth purchases Long term – Added value of collaboration to tackle regional issues – Federated services – Negotiation power for services: clouds, content, etc.
