ebXML and XDS ebXML Registry XDS Registry XDS Repository Validate Document Register Document Set XDS Validation Provide & Register Document Set XDS Patient Identifier Source Patient Id Feed XDS Validation: 1.Patient Id is known 2.Vocabulary Checking 3.Set to approve if registration OK otherwise, roll-back registration ebXML Compliance: 1.All transaction are valid ebXML transactions 2.Sequencing may be simplified 3.ebXML query against a valid Registry model specialisation
Querying for Documents The five primary search keys for finding a document: 1.Which Patient ? 2.What Type of Practice Setting ? Between 10 and 100 3.What Type of Facility ? Between 10 and 50 4.What Type of Document ? Between 100 and 1000 5.What timeframe ? Patient Id Time of Services Document Type Facility Type Practice Setting 3 Independent dimensions. One with 3 interrelated sub-dimensions
Document Availability Management Availability Status Visible to a Document Source Available for Patient Care Availability Status Change under the Control of Original Document Source and Patient (if allowed in Affinity Domain) Deprecated (or Obsolete) Deleted Registration in progress Availability Status Visible to a Document Consumer
Document LifeCycle Management Document Set Id shall be under the control of the Source of Original Version number is an optional/unused field (policy to increment ?) Addendum and Original Registry Entries shall be similar. Consumer may always find all original and addendum by Doc SetId. Document Addendum Document 1 (Available) Doc Set Id Parent Id Replacement Document Parent Id Document 1 (Deprecated) Doc Set Id Document 2 (transform) Parent Id Document 1 Doc Set Id Replacement doc and availability status change shall be part of the same submission set. A transformed document may be part of the same submission set or not. Only way to find if a document has transforms is to query using SetId.
Submission Set & Folders New Doc Submission Set New Doc Submission Set New Doc Prev Doc Collaborative Folder A Submission Set New Doc Prev Doc Collaborative Folder B
Submission Set or Submission Folder ? Add a single clinical meaning code ! Suggests making Collaborative Folders a Source and Registry Option New Doc Submission Folder New Doc Submission Folder New Doc Prev Doc Collaborative Folder A Submission Folder New Doc Prev Doc Collaborative Folder B Query: Views only Folders
Re-Submission Goal is to detect and solve re-submission when happen Suggest making this detection and correction an option New Doc Submission Set New Doc A Submission Set (Reqested) New Doc New Doc A Registry/Repository detects re-submission Prev Doc Submission Set (Registered) New Doc Alternatives ? Multiple Registry Entry/Doc with same UID confuses Consumer One Registry Entry with multiple Docs complex, not useful for Consumer, and likelihood of exact same Registry Entry with same Doc UID+Hash in re-submission is small.
