Starter Write an equation for a line that goes through point (-3,3) and (0,3) y = 1/2 x + 3/2

Algebra II Chapter 3 Section 1 Graph a system of equations Before the system of equations graph you

Graphing a line  Find a point on the line and plot it the y-intercept works well  Find the slope go up the numerator over the denominator and plot another point  Connect the dots

Systems of equations  Graph both lines carefully  Find where they intersect  Write the coordinates of where they intersect as an ordered pair

Solve by graphing y = 1/2 x + 3 y = -2x - 2 { { y = 4 x - 3 y = -x + 5

Check  substitute the x value of the point in for the x of both equations  solve for y  If the y = the y value of the point then your solution is correct

Do Now Page 118 Problems 1-24 Multiples of 3
