Implementation at the local level (1) Analytical work How to connect informal (e.g. communities/ water associations) and formal (local authorities / district planners) local organisations? Identify policies that that provide incentives for communities to invest in their natural resources (WRI) Civil society organisations demonstrate how they distribute resources to local communities (Birdlife / IUCN…)
Implementation at the local level (2) Learn from local communities Identify and document good examples of local level action on poverty and environment and communicate this effectively (to influence who?) IIED learning about P-E activities from 15 local organisations – PEP members could add to this by learning from their partners. IUCN Communities of Learning – 5 national workshops in 2007 - opportunities for PEP members to engage / expand.
Implementation at the local level (3) PEP specific PEP reflection – what do we mean by local? Capacity focus at next PEP (DK) could focus on local capacity needs and synergies with the national level.
