3 CEA/DRT/DTEN/SCSE/GENECCIRED 2003 Barcelona May13th N°1999/12442c INVESTIRE Objectives  To propose technology neutral evaluation criteria that are suited for the renewables applications  Technical ( lifetime, energy efficiency, self discharge …)  Economical (investment cost, operating cost, cost of delivered kWh …)  Environmental (use of scarce resources, recycling …)  To determine the needs in R&D  Based on the various applications  For each storage technology  For the storage systems (possible hybridation …)
