11 Our Place Financial Report: 2014 Results – Expenditure / Surplus Comments on Changes 2013 to 2014 Salaries and Wages – Transfer of manager’s salary to Our Place from Town School plus Super Coaches School Expenses – Hire of mentors to meet increased demand plus training costs for volunteers Other Expenses – Mostly building related costs such as utilities and maintenance Our Place Income exceeded expenditure creating a small surplus of £370 Expenditure20142015 Salaries and Wages£55,511£12,488 School Expenses£25,732£6,913 Other Expenses£27,841£22,561 Total£109,084£41,962

12 Our Place Financial Report: Progress in 2015 Finance Processes: Developed a new spreadsheet to record income and expenses, simplifying and standardising the data capture process The new spreadsheet also summarises data for financial reports and controls, including a monthly bank reconciliation Introduced better tracking of expenditure assigned to specific donors Financial Reporting: Introduced the use of a financial budget for the current financial year Introduced monthly reporting of actual results versus budget (with supporting commentary); this is reviewed by the management team to ensure Our Place is on track

16 The Our Place Mentoring Scheme demonstrates ALL the required elements of an effective and successful mentoring project. The scheme has a clearly planned, sustainable and monitored project with strong support mechanisms for both mentors and mentees. The value of the project to the mentees and mentors was made very clear during the assessment process. (Andrew Brookfield MBF)

17 I have changed because of mentoring now the days have been better and I’m a bit happier because ive not got a lot of bad feelings now. (Child Mentee) Our Place are working in heart to the community in Sutton Coldfield with families & children A fantastic model for others to follow. It was such a pleasure & very humbling to train such dedicated child focused mentors from (Jane Evans, Trauma Parenting Specialist) The children have come on in leaps and bounds since the mentoring, gaining in confidence, it is a superb service you offer (Anna Bradbury, SENCO at St Josephs Primary School) I really enjoyed visiting the Hub, it provides a great diverse service for the community.
