3 AFBE-UK’s Objectives AFBE-UK’s goal is to promote public awareness of engineering and the opportunities for Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities in engineering. Working with various organisations to make this happen!

Perceptions of Engineering in relation to BME communities Advise /information on BME community related matters RAEng, ICE, IMechE, ACE, EDT, Industry participation Raising awareness of Engineering careers to young people Topical world engineering problems and development of wider community AFBE-UK’s OBJECTIVES Research Seminars Developing Partnerships Consultancy Schools

10 This year’s focus Website Launch 2013-2015 themes: Mentoring, Membership and Research (from September 2013) Make Engineering Hot! – Croydon, Newham, Lambeth, Southwark Careers Day (February 2014) Outside zone requests: From now on there will be a charge out rate for MEH activities outside campaign zone Making the Horizons Project successful Transition Rendezvous in London (January 2014) Seminar and Awards Reception
