12. Overarching features Provision for the long-term study of well characterised, large populations; data collection and processing. Development of and support for both biological and data infastructures (bio-banks, cohorts, animal models, etc.) and for other medical research facilities and infrastructures. Support for the development of tools and technologies including –omics, high throughput research, systems biology and imaging, and for research using these. 12
