The Sibert Medal  Given every year since 2001 to BOTH the author and the illustrator of the “most distinguished informational book for children” published in America that year.  Book must contain factual information written for children up to 14 years old.  Folktales and fairy tales are NOT eligible.  Each author and illustrator listed on the title page must by American.  Robert Sibert was the long-time CEO of the Bound to Stay Bound book publishing company.
