7 Offseason Schedule It is hard to believe that we are already into the first week of February. Tryouts are less than a month away. Presently we will continue to work out every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. We may look to add an additional day once winter sports end. In addition to our time in the gym working on skills this next month in pivotal in building the strength and conditioning your bodies will need for the season. Strength and conditioning should be taking place 3-4 times a week at this point in the year.

8 Tryouts March 3-6 with times and locations to be announced at a later date. The evaluation process will focus on an examination of skill, athleticism, and baseball IQ. Each skill will be assessed using a rubric which awards points. Teams will be selected based upon points earned when compared to other players and within a position which a given player may be trying out for. Team selection and assignment is based upon skill and potential and not upon past accomplishments, grade, or other non-evaluated factors.

9 Tryouts continued… Teams will be announced by an individual meeting with each player. During these meetings we will share with the player our expectations for them during the coming season and things they need to improve upon for continued improvement. For players not making the team we will share with them areas where they can improve in order to prepare for summer teams or to improve in an effort to tryout again in the future.
