4 Taken the ACT or SAT test ? If not, the next test is coming up October 26th. You can still do regular registration through September 27 th (and late through October 11 th ). Come to the Counseling office to pick up a registration flyer and then register online. REGISTER ASAP!

5 Visited a college campus or met in person with a representative or recruiter... A “real visit” can help you make a final decision on where you think you’ll fit in best. Lots of MN colleges have visits arranged for over our break in October.

6 Developed a personal data sheet, resume, biography, or list of “all the things you’ve done”... College applications ask you questions about your involvement… getting it all down now will make the application process much smoother.

7 obtained information/applications from colleges/employers/military branch you are interested in attending...

8 had a conversation with your parents about money... It might be tough, but it is necessary. Colleges provide financial aid on the basis of the FAFSA. Complete as early as you can in 2014- the money dries up!

9 Submitted an application to a school... Yourself!!!! It’s time to get started! U of MN has a December 15 th deadline. Lots of private schools need letters or recommendation- give your raters time to do a decent letter. Apply online if you can. Naviance!

10  Complete everything that is “your part”  Request a transcript through Naviance  $3- payable in the counseling office  We will “E-doc” everything off within a couple days Recommendation Letters also through Naviance

11 It’s not too late to start working on these things.

Check out NCAA to make sure you qualify

25  Naviance is a web-based resource for staff, students and parents that encourages and supports post high-school career and college planning.  You should have registered for your account on passport day. If you need to register stop in to the Career Center.

31  Bullying & Harassment of any kind is unacceptable within our family at Andover High School  It’s not right and it’s not what we stand for  That means what you do, type, or send online, and what you say (NO SLURS… EVER!)  You’ve heard it many times before  Take a stand and call it out when you see/hear it  “Joking around” is not an excuse  Incidents will be reported and addressed
