Signal Propagation at 2.4GHz Objective n=2.97n=2.63 n=3.02n=2.9n=2.91 Results Outdoor Propagation Propagation between building Path Loss Coefficient (n) for 2.4Ghz Frequency Range Indoor Propagation Scenarios One floor above Same floor One floor below Free space Propagation between building n 4 2.68 3.22 2.63~3.0 ≈3.0 Application Three types of environments scenario were study: 1) Indoor Propagation, 2) Outdoor Propagation and 3) Propagation between building. Those propagation types are observed and analyzed due to the variation of distance. The comparison of the signal strength between the measured data and the simulation path loss model were done and the outcome are related to each other. Rappaport, 2002, Prentice-Hall (www.wikipedia.com) Methodology Overall, the path loss signal propagation is basically caused by the obstruction which the signal passing through and also known as path loss coefficient factor, n. The value of n plays an important roles in determining the path loss prediction model for a certain environment. Frequency at 2.4GHz is reserved for wireless communications which is commonly used for internet interconnection. When the signal is propagated through obstructions such as buildings, trees and walls, there will be certain attenuation occur which also called as path loss. This path loss signal is analyzed and compared with the Log Distance Path Loss Model by using MathCAD [1] as a simulation tool.
