Only 1/3 of high school seniors eat green vegetables on a typical day Less than 10% of kids get their daily dose of fruits & vegetables Kids consume over 29 tsp of sugar daily, or 92 lbs of sugar a year It takes approximately 12 exposures to a new taste for a child to accept a different kind of food

Replace poor quality foods with high quality foods in kids’ diets Decrease consumption of foods of minimal nutritional value Make school meals satisfying so kids go home full and don’t stop at corner store for chips, candy, soda Improve quality of ingredients kids are consuming – real cheese, real meats, fewer additives, preservatives and fillers
