THE GOOD

Student Comments on Simulated Workplace:
"When I came in I was very quiet, after being in the kitchen and with my class I've gained more confidence in not only my abilities, but myself. I now talk and help lead the kitchen.” “I've went from being the late transfer to the shops safety manager who is in charge of looking out for the other students and myself.... it's a big responsibility but a good change I'm proud of."

Students Comments on Simulated Workplace: "I am being challenged in many ways through Simulated Workplace. I have been taught to put my skills to the test when I had no choice." "I think my role has changed a lot and I'm making progress in auto technology I'm coming to school every day and making auto technology my own little work place working in teams make it a lot easier for us to work."

Inspector Comment: “ I was very impressed to see simulated workplace in action. It did not disappoint. I would feel very comfortable in hiring these students. I did not realize the high quality of training being delivered in vocational schools.”

Inspector Comment: “Wow. I have been waiting for education to understand what business needs. I see it is now happening. It is exciting to me as an employer.”

THE BAD

INSPECTOR COMMENTS: “The program and instructor was very disappointing. I had high hopes that vocational education had changed since my day and was excited to see a simulated workplace program in action unfortunately it is just a name and not really a true simulated workplace. Clearly vocational education has not changed. Very disappointed”
