8. Linux Choose a distribution with a large user base – Add custom repos if needed Use apt / yum consistently – “python” == python2.x – “python3” == python3.x Use “modules” or “lmod” if you want multiple versions of ISCE or compilers or libraries.

9. OS X Use macports / homebrew consistently – Portfile included in next release On OS X, Do not “port select python python3x” – OS X does not conform to linux conventions OS X is case insensitive
