4 SBS 2003 R2 Overview SBS 2003 R2 is an update release to the award- winning SBS 2003 product, providing new features to address the growing needs of small businesses: Automated, network-wide patch and update management for all Microsoft Update supported products Increased mailbox limits from 16 GB to 75 GB Inclusion of SQL Server 2005 Workgroup Edition technology in SBS 2003 R2 Premium Expanded client access license (CAL) rights for access to additional Exchange Server 2003 and SQL Server 2005 Workgroup servers in the SBS 2003 R2 network

5 Expanded CAL Rights with SBS 2003 R2 SBS 2003 Additional servers can be added to the SBS 2003 network. The SBS 2003 CAL entitles users/devices to access data on additional Windows Servers in the SBS 2003 network. The SBS 2003 CAL does not entitle users/devices to access data on additional Exchange or SQL Servers in the SBS 2003 network. SBS 2003 R2 Customers gain expanded SBS 2003 CAL rights providing access to additional: Exchange 2003 Standard SQL 2005 Workgroup Customers will still need to purchase the server licenses for Exchange 2003 and SQL 2005 Workgroup. Customers will not be required to purchase new SBS CALs. These expanded CAL rights apply only to Exchange 2003 and SQL 2005 Workgroup servers joined to the SBS 2003 R2 network.

8 SBS 2003 R2 Availability Release-to-Manufacturing: SBS 2003 R2* is scheduled to RTM in Q2 of CY06. General Availability: SBS 2003 R2* will be available six to eight weeks following RTM, depending on the channel. Pricing: Specific pricing has not been announced. See the next slide for options in obtaining SBS 2003 R2. The purchase of new client access licenses (CALs) will not be required for existing SBS 2003 customers.
