3 Key Policies and Procedures Policy Against Workplace Harassment & Violence  We are committed to providing a safe and secure working environment free from discrimination, harassment, physical violence, threats and intimidation of any kind.  TUHS has zero tolerance for harassment or threats of violence.  We recognize that health care and social service workers face an increased threat of work-related assaults.

4 Key Policies and Procedures Policy Against Workplace Harassment & Violence  The policy applies to all business relationships whether between a supervisor/employee, worker/coworker, staff/patient, employee/business invitee or other professional relationship.  The policy prohibits unprofessional, unwelcome, disruptive, bullying, harassing and/or violent content – whether the form is verbal, written (including e-mail and text), or physical.

5 Key Policies and Procedures Policy Against Workplace Harassment & Violence Examples of prohibited conduct include: Disrupting the work of others Bullying Verbal abuse Intimidation, physical abuse or violence Making sexual advances or requests Making references to weapons or bringing them to work Making unwelcome jokes or comments or taking action based on someone’s protected class Displaying irrational or inappropriate behavior Inappropriate or misuse of TUHS communications

6 Key Policies and Procedures Reporting Policy Violations  To report a possible violation of the Policy Against Workplace Harassment & Violence, employees should immediately inform their manager and/OR file a complaint with Human Resources or TUHS Employee Relations.  Retaliation for initiating or participating in the investigation of a complaint is strictly prohibited.

7 Key Policies and Procedures Your Role in Prevention  Know and abide by the policy and office safety and security procedures.  Wear your ID.  Refrain from behaviors or conduct (including jokes) that others could find offensive.  Stay alert and report behaviors of concern in others; such as angry outbursts, blaming, obsessions, sadness, or changing behaviors.  Immediately report violations of the policy that you observe to a manager or HR, even if you are not directly affected.

8 Key Policies and Procedures TUHS Drug and Alcohol Policy  TUHS has strong commitment to maintaining a safe workplace, free from the influence of alcohol, drugs, and other controlled substances  There is zero tolerance for the unlawful use, possession, distribution, or the manufacture of drugs or alcohol on TUHS property

9 Key Policies and Procedures TUHS Drug and Alcohol Policy (cont.)  Any employee convicted under any criminal drug/alcohol statute must notify the Human Resources Department within 5 days of conviction.  Any employee who is required to disclose a drug or alcohol related arrest under his/her licensing/credentialing agency must also disclose to Human Resources.  Any employee who violates the TUHS Drug and Alcohol Policy is subject to discipline, up to, and including termination.
