2 Christmas Time Christmas begins on the first advent Sunday, when we light one candle on advent wreath and so we do on every Sunday till Christmas The main feast is the Christmas Eve, when we celebrate with our families and relatives.

3 We decorate Christmas tree with decorations, chains, gingerbread, glass,… Some families decorate their own Bethlehem We bake sweets and buy presents (children believe, that presents brings „Ježíšek“- Christ child

4 Christmas Day In our country we believe, that if we don´t eat for the whole day, we will see a gold pig before the dinner Most families use to have a small breakfast (sweet Christmas cake) and for lunch soup (we know it´s cheating, but we are hungry )

5 Christmas Eve Traditions In every region and every family there are a lot of different traditions Some families still pray before dinner, but it is more common in catholic families nowdays Traditions: cut the apple or walnut to know, if you´ll be healthy the next year

8 Christmas Eve Dinner It is also different from family to family, but the most common are: White sausages Fish soup Carp or schnitzel (steak) with potato salad (it´s with vegetables and mayones) Christmas sweets
