2. Why Have a PAC?

The CSX Good Government Fund is a nonpartisan political action committee that supports state and federal candidates.
The GGF focuses on elected officials who are generally consistent with the business interests of CSX, the railroad industry and our employees.

3. How does the Good Government Fund work?
CSX is prohibited by law from using corporate funds to provide financial support to federal and many state campaigns. The PAC allows employees to give that financial support on behalf the company. In turn, CSX matches those contributions dollar-for-dollar to a charity of your choice.
We are strategic with the funds we receive. The GGF does not make giving decisions based on party identification. We support members who are in our districts and on key committees. Our budget is reviewed by a PAC Board that is comprised of employees from across the company. We do not spend PAC dollars on gifts or operating expenses. The pins, books and the Chairman’s Club gift all come out of the Federal Affairs corporate budget.

4. CSX GGF PACMatch Program
How it works:
The CSX GGF matches individual contributions to the PAC by contributing to charities identified by PAC participants
Someone making a $1,000 contribution to the GGF over the course of they year can designate the United Way as their charity and CSX will donate $1,000 to the United Way on their behalf.
At absolutely no additional cost CSX GGF participants help two worthy organizations for the price of one!
In 2015, the CSX GGF matched over $1,400,000 to 800 charitable organizations.

Participation is completely voluntary and employees can refuse to participate without fear of reprisal
If you give at the 1% level, the Chairman’s Club level, or higher you are eligible to give to up to three charities.

5. Industry RailPAC Receipts and Participation
2014
With over $3 million in receipts and $3 million in disbursements in the 2013 and 2014 election cycle, the GGF is currently the 16th largest corporate PAC.
Among the railroads we were second in receipts in the last congress. HOWEVER, at our current giving levels, we are quickly moving to third place.
Company-wide participation is at 40%.
