2 4:1 – “Now the Spirit expressly says that in the last times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons,” 4:2 – “through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared,”

3 1 st Timothy 4:1-5 4:3 – “who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.” 4:4 – “For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 4:5 – “for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.”

4 When Will False Teachers Arise? False teachers will arise in the later times The Holy Spirit expresses this fact – Mark 13:22 – 2 nd Peter 3:3-8 – 2nd Thessalonians 2:1-12

False teachers will arise in the later times The later times – These later times started at Pentecost – These later times continue until Jesus’ coming again – These later times were in Timothy days – These later days are in our days now – These later times will get worse and worse To keep from falling away, understand there are false teachers today.

6 Where Does The Strength Of False Teachers Come From? False teachers’ source of strength is Satan Demons –fallen angels doing Satan’s work Satan’s goal is to deceive people – 2 nd Corinthians 11:3 – Matthew 16:21-23 – Acts 5:3 Satan’s standard operating procedure – Use demons to teach heresy – 2 nd Corinthians 11:13-15

7 Where Does The Strength Of False Teachers Come From? False teachers’ source of strength is Satan To keep from falling away, understand believers are involved in spiritual warfare – Ephesians 6:11-12 – We know the enemy – We know the enemies methods – false teachers – We should be prepared then

8 Who Are The False Teachers? False teachers are liars and hypocrites Insincerity – hypocrite – Play acting – pretending These people are false teachers were liars and hypocrites because they have seared consciences. – Seared – to brand – make hard and have no feeling To keep from falling away, protect your mind

9 What Do False Teachers Do? False teachers lead people away from the Christian faith. Depart – negative of stand in the middle of – Stand far away from To keep from falling away, persevere in the truth of the Christian faith. – 1 st John 2:19 – Perseverance proves genuine, true faith

10 Why Are False Teachers Wrong? False teachers are wrong because they deny the Word of God False teachers forbid marriage Bible teaches marriage was created by God for humans – Genesis 2:18 – Genesis 2:24 – Matthew 19:5-6 – 1 st Corinthians 7

11 Why Are False Teachers Wrong? False teachers forbid eating of certain foods Bible says all foods are clean and can be eaten – Mark 7:18-19, 1 st Corinthians 10 – All food is set apart by the Word of God – All food is set apart by prayer To keep from falling away, know what the Bible says

12 Conclusion False teachers are all around us False teachers are empowered by Satan False teachers are hypocrites and liars False teachers goal is to keep you away from Jesus Christ False teachers deny the truth of God’s Word LOVE THE TRUTH
