Development of strategies for an enhanced use of renewable energies for heating and cooling of buildings - Comparison and optimization of energy supply systems through exergy analysis - Herena Torio
The building sector represents ca. 40% of the final energy consumption in Germany Enhanced use of renewable energies in the energy supply of buildings - Which requirements have to fulfill the buildings to allow a wider use of renewable energies? - How can the renewable energy systems be optimized for that specific use? MOTIVATION ? ?
METHOD 2. Building typology USE - Office building - Resid. building - Emission system - Building shell Definition Standard- building 1. Evaluation Criteria based on EXERGY flows 4. Dynamic Analysis (IDA-ICE and TRNSYS?) 5. Evaluation: Best use and chances for optimization HEATING AND COOLING Local Solar networks with/out seasonal storage Big solar thermal systems Geothermal energy systems 3. Building systems
FINAL RESULTS 1. GUIDELINE FOR OPTIMAL USE OF THE TECHNOLOGIES - STRATEGIES for enhanced use of renewable energies and reduction of CO 2 -emissions -> by optimizing the use of the exergy flows - Feasibility: optimal cost-benefit behaviour 2. SIMPLE CALCULATION TOOL (i.e. Excel-based) Example Formular aus IEA Annex 37 Example of Tool from IEA ECBCS Annex 37
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION!!!
MODULAR APPROACH: Building and building systems divided into Subsystems For each subsystem -> ENERGY- und EXERGY demands and losses will be calculated Source: IEA Annex 37 METHOD
