1 Computer Ethics

2 Ethics The branch of philosophy concerned with evaluating human action. Some distinguish ethics, what is right or wrong based on reason, from morals, what is considered right or wrong behaviour based on social custom.

3 So what is Computer Ethics?
Computer Ethics deals specifically with how computer users, companies and professionals use computers in an ethical way.

4 The 10 Commandments of Computer Ethics
Thou shalt not use a computer to harm other people. Thou shalt not interfere with other people's computer work. Thou shalt not snoop around in other people's files. Thou shalt not use a computer to steal. Thou shalt not use a computer to bear false witness.

5 Thou shalt not use or copy software for which you have not paid.
Thou shalt not use other people's computer resources without authorization. Thou shalt not appropriate other people's intellectual output. Thou shalt think about the social consequences of the program you write. Thou shalt use a computer in ways that show consideration and respect.

Encryption to change data into a secret code to protect the info Intellectual Property Any product created of one’s mind, that has commercial value, especially copyrighted material, patents, and trademarks

9 Computer Ethics in our Lives
We deal with issues related to computer ethics everyday; These issues impact us at school, work and home; Things that we may think are normal and acceptable are actually considered “unethical”. “Is it OK as long as I do not get CAUGHT?"
