Purpose: Familiarize Cadets and BCCs on basic Ambush Planning Process, Claymore use, and execution as team members and squad leaders. Key Tasks: Initial TMK walk-through Claymore familiarization Conduct check on learning via talk-through with TMK by cadet/BCC. Conduct practical walk-through outside Retrain if necessary Conduct AAR End state: Cadets and BCCs are trained to standard on Ambush battle drill. Resources: FM 7-8 , 3 – 20-29 Number of Cadets Trained: ~ 84 2nd 1st Concept of the Operation: 4 Phases Phase 1: Cadets broken into 6 SQD’s. Ambush classes covering basic principles of the battle drill. Cover planning process through actions on the OBJ using TMK. Phase 2: Claymore familiarization class and short practical utilizing all pieces of the claymore system. Allow Cadets/BCC’s hands on equipment. Phase 3: SQD’s move to practical locations and do walk-throughs. SQD’s should conduct a minimum of 2 walk-throughs with different Cadets/BCC’s in leadership positions. Phase 4 : AAR conducted with all SQD’s back and formed up in the Memorial parking lot. T.M.U: MSIV’s to teach classes Group 1: Mraw and Rankin Group 2: Anzalone and Bruccerlari Group 3: Henderson and Regan Group 4: Zero and Karski Group 5: Bracero and Cary Instructional basic movement walkthrough FF 5 1 2 4 3 Concept of the Operation: Cadets and BCC’s will conduct a MTC practical IOT prepare cadets for future ROTC and Warrior Forge. Phase 1- Preparation: Cadets will form up in the parking lot under the baseball fields for FF. Cadets will draw dummy weapons and assigned to their groups. Phase 2- Movement: Cadets will cross the street into the field. They will follow their perspective MSIV leaders to their SD’s AA. Phase 3- Execution: Cadets will conduct 3 separate MTCs. MSIVs will conduct an AAR immediately after and rotate leadership. Phase 4- Exfil: Cadets will regroup at FF cite, turn in weapons, and conduct a final AAR. Key Personnel: Cadets and Lab participants wMSIV’s as lane walkers, will conduct MTC practical Administrative Control: Attendance will be taken IOT track Accountability. Check on learning and retraining will be conducted following training. Lab AAR will be conducted with class immediately following Completion of Training. 1530 First Formation 1535 Squads are broken up and moved to their perspective areas with their MSIV instructors 1540 First MTC practical is conducted 1615 Mission AAR conducted/Rotate cSQD leaders & TLs 1620 Second MTC practical is conducted 1645 Mission AAR conducted/Rotate cSQD leaders & TLs 1650 Third(Final) MTC practical is conducted 1720 Mission AAR conducted 1725 Final AAR and Final Formation In the case that weather heavy precipitation occurs, lab will be held at the armory. 8 Step Training Date Plan the Training 30JAN13 Certify Leaders 6FEB13 Recon the Site Issue the Plan Rehearse 13FEB13 Execute Conduct AAR Retrain TBD Training Event: RAID Patrolling OIC: cMueller, NCOIC: cBruccoleri MISSION: JMU Duke MS3 cadets conduct RAID Patrolling lane from on 13FEB13 in AO Hillandale park in order to develop MS3 leadership potential and familiarize MS3’s with RAID patrolling IAW CONCEPT OF THE OPERATION This operation will have 4 phases. Phase 1: Phase will begin with the planning of the operation and with the briefing of the plan at the training meeting on 11FEB13. Phase will conclude with the operation and supply request approved. Phase 2: Phase begins with FF at the parking lot in Hillandale Park. MS3 cadets will form up in prospective teams-squads-platoons. cBruccoleri will have MS3’s inspect equipment and phase will end upon the issuance of the signed out equipment. cBruccoleri will take the OPFOR to their assigned position and ensure that the objective is correct. Phase will end once all equipment is issued. Phase 3: Phase begins with movement to the AA. The RAID practical will be conducted, and the conclusion of this phase will be the end of the execution of the mission. Phase 4: Phase begins with the AAR and ends with dismissal of all personnel. Outcomes: MS3s are successfully trained in RAID planning, TLPs, and conducting RAID tactics. MS4s successfully trained in planning and conducting RAID Patrolling lane and evaluating cadets’ performance therein.
