3 3 What do I need to know?  To find the information efficiently, you must ask the right question.  A good clinical question has 4 elements (PICO):  P-Patient  I-Intervention  C-Comparison  O-Outcome

4 4 How do I do this search quickly & efficiently? Choices:  Key word (how I talk)  Thesaurus (specific language) Combine words or phrases  Use and, or, not  Called Boolean operators but all they do is combine or not combine words. Next slide shows a search for asthma and obesity
