“2012, year of Transformation of Nations” Footprint #13: “Set Time Aside to Listen” June 10, 2012 … exemplified in the life of the Moses Setting time aside will involve going beyond the ordinary surface – go deeper. Exodus 3, now Moses was tending the flock and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb (mount Sinai), the mountain of God. 2 There the angel of the L ORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. God speaks and keeps what He has spoken. But to hear Him, we need to go into the far side of the wilderness (a lonely place, and you are all by yourself). To go the far side is not a quick walk. It is an endurance walk – but one that knows that for certain something will come forth from the walk.

“2012, year of Transformation of Nations” Footprint #13: “Set Time Aside to Listen” June 10, 2012 … exemplified in the life of the Moses Moses spent 40 years as a prince in Egypt but in those years God did not speak to him because he had not learnt to listen. But while tending the flocks, Moses learnt to endure and grew in maturity. He learnt some pains and deprivations. He had become more appreciative (qualities that were necessary in walking with God). He had learned to slow down and go on a long walk with animals, without the hustling and bussling of life or the pressures from peers. Tending flocks was a despised job and nothing to show off for. It was at this time that he decided to go on a long walk with the flocks into the desert.

“2012, year of Transformation of Nations” Footprint #13: “Set Time Aside to Listen” June 10, 2012 … exemplified in the life of the Moses One significant thing about “the Moses walk” was that it was not a quick walk. It was an endurance walk with certainty that something would come forth from the walk. He was happily taking the flock to an unexplored area where there will be so much for the flocks to eat and drink. I can imagine that he was travelling with a song of victory in his heart. - A despised job done with joy and passion! Brethren, the conditions were complete at this point in the life of Moses and it was tehn time for God to ACT – to speak.

“2012, year of Transformation of Nations” Footprint #13: “Set Time Aside to Listen” June 10, 2012 … exemplified in the life of the Moses Matt 19:24 says “ Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.“ Brethren, when we get entrenched in the hursling and bursling of life, it is difficult for God to use us to do His specific works. Peer pressures bring lots of distraction. To use us, God will need us set aside. He had to set Moses aside for His work.

“2012, year of Transformation of Nations” Footprint #13: “Set Time Aside to Listen” June 10, 2012 … exemplified in the life of the Moses Problem is when we are set aside, we mistake it as temptation. It is not temptation, it is a chastening… “For whom the Lord loves He chastens” (Hebrews 12:6).Hebrews 12:6 Thus bible says: 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom (about how to handle the situation, inserted), you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double- minded and unstable in all they do. James 1:2-8

“2012, year of Transformation of Nations” Footprint #13: “Set Time Aside to Listen” June 10, 2012 … exemplified in the life of the Moses 9 Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position. 10 But the rich should take pride in their humiliation—since they will pass away like a wild flower. 11 For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business. 12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. So brethren, let us be prepared to set time aside and listen. Infact if it does not come naturally, pray and ask

The Transformation of Nations Join us as we Praying for Nations in 2012. Prayer format: 1prayer for the leadership In 2 king 2, 19 The people said to Elisha, “Look, our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive.” 20 “Bring me a new bowl,” he said, “and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him. 21 Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the L ORD says: ‘I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.’” 22 And the water has remained pure to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken. Brethren, let us pray for all nations that have been blessed by God with resources and yet are suffering because of poor leadership. God says through our prayers, our land will be healed. (2 Chron 7:14-16) The earth is the Lord’s and God rules over the Nations (Psalm 22:28) We are the salt of the world. I stand on this authority and pour out salt upon: -Every seed of corruption in nations -Every seed of incompetence -Every seed of unrepentant heart
