2 Duties »You must pay a term fee before you can take an exam »The term fee covers the membership in your local student welfare organization.

3 Duties »You must sign a course plan (a contract between you and the institution)

4 Duties »You must be familiar with exam rules and regulations »If your course requires a work experience programme, you must be familiar with the rules and regulations for the programme

5 Duties »When required, you must show a certificate of good conduct –From the police

6 Duties »You must follow mandatory lecuteres and work experience programmes

7 Rights »You have the right to a clean and well kept premises »You have the right to be safe and secure (HMS – healt, environment and safety)

8 Rights for disabled students »You have the right to adjustments for special needs

9 Democratic rights »You have the right to establish a student democracy The institution’s board Student democracy The departement’s board Student council

10 Democratic rights »At least 20% of the representatives in descision- making bodies at the institutions must be students »One additional student representative should be included where the 20% do not amount to more than one representative

13 Rights when illness occurs »You have the right to have your student loan converted into a grant when: –You have been sick more than two weeks of one study year –You became sick no earlier than two weeks after school started –You have applied for the converting within 6 months after the school year is over –You do not receive sick pay from any other employee for the same period –Remember to get a sick note from your doctor even though you are a student »Most student welfare organizations give a refund for doctor expenses »Some student welfare organizations offer a student priest and psychiatric/psychological services

14 Rights during exams »You have the right to bring a friend (or your whole family) to an oral exam since these are public

15 Rights during exams »You have the right to have the duration of your exam extended, if the need can be documented by a doctor, speech therapist etc

16 Rights  You have the right to receive you exam results 3 weeks after the exam -The board can make exceptions if an extra ordinary situation occurs  You have the right to be evaluated and judged on an impartial and reassuring basis  You have the right to two new examiners, where at least one is external, if your exam has to be re-evaluated
