5. Jesus knew he had come from God. Jesus knew that his time had come. Jesus loved his disciples completely and unconditionally. Washing the feet shows that he was prepared to do anything on their behalf. His love is also shown by His protection of them when the soldiers came to arrest him. The incident shows that Christian leadership is exactly the opposite of worldly leadership. It is about love, service and sacrifice.
