4 High School Dropout  Dropout Rates  In California, the statewide dropout rate is 20.1%.  For the Los Angeles Unified School District, the dropout rate was 34.9%.  Dropping has been linked to  Lower income level  Poor health  Higher risk for unemployment  Prison and death row
