5 Systems of Equations Systems of Equations is a set of equations that have the same variables. The solution of a system of equation is an ordered pair that satisfies all equations in the system.

6 Solving Systems of Equations by Graphing
Systems of equations can be solved by graphing both equations on the same Cartesian Plane. The solution to the system is where they intersect.

7 Continued… Systems of equations can have:
One solution: one ordered pair satisfies all equations of the system. Infinitely Many Solutions: the system contains the same equation in different representations: y=2x+4 is the same as y-2x=4 No solutions: the lines are parallel… meaning they have the same slope: y=-3x+1 and y=-3x-50 are parallel
