2 2 What is hCare? HCA’s Electronic Health Record – hCare: ► Ties together a patient’s health information from multiple systems. ► The information will be presented in a structured, standardized format. One of the core components of hCare includes the hCare Clinician Portal.

3 3 What is the Clinician Portal? ► Physician electronic access point for clinical information Integrated systems Simplified Remote Access User-friendly, intuitive interface ► Access to complete patient list ► Resources section Clinical references Training modules Facility-specific information ► Accessible from hospital, home, office, or while traveling

5 5 Clinician Portal-Enhancements ► Electronic signature and record completion ► Post-discharge records available electronically These new features are available via Horizon Patient Folder (HPF)—a new enabling technology supported by the Health Information Management Shared Services Initiative—and will be available from within the clinician portal.

6 6 Current Future Post Discharge Chart Completion & Signatures Patient medical record in a variety of electronic and paper forms In the HIM Department 100% online via the hCare Clinician Portal Accessible by most PCs using an internet connection Review Patient Medical Records Process Medical record and a variety of systems such as MEDITECH, MUSE, OB Link, hCare Clinician Portal, and Mobility Prior to Discharge: Patient medical records exist in electronic and paper form prior to discharge Post discharge: (after scanning at HSC) Complete medical record will be accessible only online Access and review discharged patient medical records using the hCare Clinician Portal Physician Access to Medical Records

9 9 What you need to do ► TODAY log in to hCare portal to be sure your ID and password work! ► Contact OUMC helpdesk 271.8660 or karen.byerley@hcahealthcare.com if you need assistance. karen.byerley@hcahealthcare.com ► ID= your 3 letters 4 numbers ID that you use for Meditech ► Password = this is the password that you use for PK mobility, Vericis, the HCA network. ► Or if you have never logged in, your first time password is the first two letters of your first and last name with the 4 numbers in your ID. Case sensitive example: KaBy1234 (first letter of first and last name are capitalized).
